Life cycle of RNA oncogenic viruses.

چکیده
In view of the increasing evidence suggesting that human Cancer cells contain molecular footprints related to murine and primate type-C RNA tumor viruses (1-7), it is appropriate in this symposium to discuss a simple scheme for the life cycle of RNA tumor viruses. It is hoped that this scheme will be useful in searching for virus related proteins, nucleic acids and particulates in human leukemic cells, and in ~roviding a working hypothesis for further studies on the mechanism of viral replication. The scheme is illustrated in the attached fsure.

Interaction of viral oncogenic proteins with the Wnt signaling pathway
It is estimated that up to 20% of all types of human cancers worldwide are attributed to viruses. The genome of oncogenic viruses carries genes that have protein products that act as oncoproteins in cell proliferation and transformation. The modulation of cell cycle control mechanisms, cellular regulatory and signaling pathways by oncogenic viruses, plays an important role in viral carcinogenes...
متن کاملTargeting CTCF to Control Virus Gene Expression: A Common Theme amongst Diverse DNA Viruses
All viruses target host cell factors for successful life cycle completion. Transcriptional control of DNA viruses by host cell factors is important in the temporal and spatial regulation of virus gene expression. Many of these factors are recruited to enhance virus gene expression and thereby increase virus production, but host cell factors can also restrict virus gene expression and productivi...
متن کاملEpigenetic Alterations in Human Papillomavirus-Associated Cancers
Approximately 15-20% of human cancers are caused by viruses, including human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Viruses are obligatory intracellular parasites and encode proteins that reprogram the regulatory networks governing host cellular signaling pathways that control recognition by the immune system, proliferation, differentiation, genomic integrity, and cell death. Given that key proteins in these...
متن کاملA Review on Gene Involved in Cancer Development and Oncogenic Viruses
Oncogenic viruses are the viruses that cause cancers in their natural hosts or experimental animal systems which are thought to be causative agents of about 15-20% of cancers. They have been broadly classified into the DNA oncogenic viruses and RNA oncogenic viruses based on the nature of the nucleic acid contain within their virion. The oncogenic DNA and RNA viruses that have been identified b...
متن کاملViral Takeover of the Host Ubiquitin System
Like the other more well-characterized post-translational modifications (phosphorylation, methylation, acetylation, acylation, etc.), the attachment of the 76 amino acid ubiquitin (Ub) protein to substrates has been shown to govern countless cellular processes. As obligate intracellular parasites, viruses have evolved the capability to commandeer many host processes in order to maximize their o...
